Dumbarnie may have only been established in the spring of 2020, but it is already becoming a staple in St Andrews and Fife. Situated on genuine links land on the historic Balcarres Estate, home to Lord Balniel’s family for over 400 years, the new links course feels somewhat timeless. Stretching 1.5 miles across the Firth of Fourth nine miles from St Andrews, its sea views are among the best in Scottish golf, as is the course itself.

It was designed by renowned course architect, Clive Clark, with flowing escarpment, dual elevations, and elevated tees. Featuring three short par-4s obstructed by bunkers and swales, a large lake at the 10th, and a two-tiered green to finish, Dumbarnie is anything but ordinary. From start to finish, expect it to keep you on your toes and test your judgment.

Between the coastal and inland greens, Dumbarnie affords sweeping sea views from 14 holes. Its coastal beauty is only enhanced by the heathered rough which gives the course a wild and weathered Scottish charm. Overall, it is certainly a course to remember on your St Andrews and Fife itinerary.
