Gullane
Blessed with natural links land and dramatic coastal views, it’s no surprise that the three courses of Gullane Golf Club have played host to ASI Scottish Open and Ladies Scottish Open. Offering a range of experiences for both members and visitors, Gullane has a history dating back to 1884, when course Number 1 began providing players with the pot bunkers, wispy maritime grasses and smooth greens it is known for today. Number 2 runs adjacent for the first 7 holes, before descending down into a nature reserve and then looping back towards the Clubhouse.
Despite being the youngest in Gullane’s trifecta, Course Number 3 is described as the course for ‘straight hitting shot-makers’ thanks to its spectacularly tricky design and some precarious, sloping greens. With striking sea views out to Edinburgh, Gullane is a regular feature on PGA’s Most Picturesque Golf Spots alongside Pebble Beach.
